n8n is a popular workflow automation tool that connects hundreds of apps. Pair it with WhatsApp and you can send order updates from your store, push new leads into your CRM, or notify your team â all without writing a full application. Here's how.
How the Connection Works
- n8n â WhatsApp: use n8n's HTTP Request node to call the Wabiss REST API and send a message.
- WhatsApp â n8n: set your WhatsApp instance's webhook URL to an n8n Webhook node, so every incoming message starts a workflow.
- n8n â Wabiss chatbot: call a flow's Incoming Webhook trigger to start a full WhatsApp conversation for a customer.
Step 1: Get Your API Key
In Wabiss, connect a WhatsApp number (Meta Cloud API or Web QR) and create an API key for that number. Each key sends from the number it belongs to.
Step 2: Send a WhatsApp Message from n8n
Add an HTTP Request node with these settings:
| Method | POST |
| URL | https://your-wabiss-domain/api/v1/send/text |
| Header | x-api-key: your API key |
| Body (JSON) | { "to": "{{ $json.phone }}", "message": "Hi {{ $json.name }}, thanks for your order!" } |
On Meta Cloud API numbers, use /api/v1/send/template with templateName and templateParams when messaging customers first.
Step 3: Receive WhatsApp Messages in n8n
Create a Webhook node in n8n, copy its production URL, and set it as the webhook URL on your WhatsApp instance in Wabiss. Each incoming customer message arrives in n8n as JSON with the sender's number and message text â ready to route anywhere.
Example Workflows

| Team alert | New high-value lead â n8n â WhatsApp message to the sales manager |

| Form follow-up | Website form â n8n â Wabiss flow webhook trigger â automated WhatsApp conversation |
n8n or the Built-In Flow Builder?
You don't always need n8n. The Wabiss Flow Builder already includes HTTP requests, Google Sheets, conditions, and an AI Agent step. Use n8n when you need to connect many other apps or run scheduled jobs; use the Flow Builder for the WhatsApp conversation itself. They work well together.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this work with Zapier or Make too?

Can I build an AI WhatsApp agent with n8n?
Yes, as long as it supports your own business's customers â see Meta's 2026 AI chatbot rules.
